EFFIE T. STANCIL

CLINTON -- Effie Pearl Turner Stancil, 85, passed away Friday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

Born March 12, 1919, to the late George Washington Turner and Ann Eliza Moore Turner of Duplin County, Mrs. Stancil was the widow of Edger R. Stancil. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Stancil was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Wilson Stancil.

She is survived by three sons, William Dexter Payne and wife Murlene of Black Ridge, Va., Larry F. Stancil and wife Carol of Turkey, and Gerald Dixon Stancil and wife Brenda of Clinton; one sister, Annie Mills of Kinston; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be held today at 4 p.m. at Community Chapel, Community Funeral Home of Warsaw. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery, Pinecrest Drive, Warsaw.

Visitation was held Saturday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Community Funeral Home. At other times, the family will receive friends at the Larry Stancil home of Turkey.
