PHILLIP MATTHEWS II
Francis Phillip "Phil" Matthews II, 56, of 312 Redwood Trail, died Wednesday at Duke University Medical Center.
A native of Goldsboro, Mr. Matthews was the son of the late Col. Francis Phillip Matthews and Dorothy Hildreth Matthews. He was salesman with Matthews Motors in Goldsboro.
The funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. William Hufham and the Rev. John Wynings officiating. Burial will be in Brogden Cemetery.
Mr. Matthews is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Matthews Clifton of Longwood, Fla.; one brother, Steve Matthews of Clayton; one sister, Debbie Matthews Bronner of Goldsboro; his fiancée, Mary Haskins of Valdosta, Ga.; and two grandchildren, Madison Rene and Paul Phillip Clifton.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 until 6 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
