RUDOLPH ARTIS
The funeral for Rudolph Joe Artis, a former resident of Pikeville, will be held Friday in the Bronx in New York. He died there on Sunday.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wiley Artis; two brothers, Wiley Artis Jr. and Carney Artis; and a sister, Nettie Artis Porter.
He is survived by his wife, Jovita Artis of the home; three children, Justin Artis, Gwendolyn Artis and Gregory Artis; his mother, Rosa Webb Artis of Pikeville; four brothers, Jesse Artis and Arthur Artis of Goldsboro, Albert Artis of Pikeville and Charles Artis of Fremont; eight sisters, Katherine Cox, Dollie Jones, Christine Faison and Linda Jordan of Goldsboro, Alice Worrells of Eureka, Geraldine Sutton of Dudley, Shirley Burton of Upper Marlboro, Md., and Alberta Barnes of Landover, Md.; and five grandchildren.
The viewing hours will be from 2 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries, and the family will be there to receive friends from 7 until 8.
