HOOVER COLLINS

Hoover Collins, 76, of 127 Deans Lane died Friday at his home.

A native of Johnston County, he was the son of the late Nelson Collins and Mary Lynch Collins and had worked as a carpenter with Elton Warrick and with T.A. Loving Co.

Graveside services will be today at 3:30 p.m. at Deans Cemetery on Tommy's Road. The Rev. Alton Childers will officiate.

Mr. Collins is survived by his wife, Helen Warrick Collins; his daughters, Joyce White and husband, Bill of Washington, Darlene Thigpen and husband, Gary, of Goldsboro and Charlotte Parchman and husband, Robert, of Pikeville; his grandchildren, Sterling Thigpen, Emily White, and Adam Parchman; his sisters, Sallie Elks of Goldsboro, Corlean Beasley of Goldsboro and Virginia Thompson of Raleigh; and his sisters-in-law, Mildred Collins of Goldsboro and Ruby Collins of Smithfield.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Johnnie Collins, Lonnie Collins and Paul Collins.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.
