DURWOOD BROCK

MOUNT OLIVE -- Durwood Benson Brock Sr., 70, of 287 Virginia Johnson Road, Mount Olive, died Saturday night at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home with the Rev. Lynn Epps and the Rev. Kenneth Powell officiating. Burial will be in the Pate Cemetery.

Mr. Brock was the son of the late Harvey and Sadie Brown Brock. He served in the U. S. Air Force and was a retired truck driver.

He is survived by his wife, Inez Gurganus Brock of the home; three sons, Ernest Ray Brock of Magnolia, Glenn Brock and his wife, Carol, of Goldsboro, and Marshall Leslie of Goldsboro; three daughters, Bonita Jones and husband, Owen, of Mount Olive, Pat Benson and husband, Jackie, of Faison, and Billie Bizzell and husband, Ricky, of Mount Olive; two sisters, Mavis B. Swinson and Sarah B. Southerland and husband, Kent, of Mount Olive; six brothers, David Brock and wife, Betty, of Calypso, Cecil Brock and wife, Patty, of Mount Olive, Lonnie Brock and wife, Linda, of Faison, Rommie Brock and wife, Shelby, of Goldsboro, Marsden Brock of Mount Olive, and Bennie Brock of Faison; a sister-in-law, Janie Brock of Texas; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Durwood B . Brock Jr.; a sister, Marie Brock; and three brothers, Lynwood Brock, Billy Brock, and Glenwood Brock.

The family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home from 7 until 9 tonight.
