DOUG CARTER

KINSTON -- Doug Carter, 41, of 1800 Maple Leaf Road, died Wednesday at his home.

He was a carpenter and a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church. He loved children and coached hockey at Galaxy of Sports.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Rouse Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Williams officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Mr. Carter is survived by his wife of 23 years, Kathy Andrews Carter; one son, Eric Scott Carter of the home; his father and step-mother, Ransome and Ruthie Carter of LaGrange; his mother, Rosa Evans Carter of Kinston; one sister, Penny Blackburn of Kinston; two brothers, David Carter of Swansboro and Leonard Carter of South Carolina; two stepsisters, Janet Toler of Kinston and Diane Walton of Goldsboro; and one stepbrother, Pete Brock of Honolulu, Hawaii.

The family will receive friends today from 7 until 9 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home and at other times they will be at the home. Memorials may be directed to the family. Arrangements by Rouse Funeral Home, LaGrange.
