LAURA SAULS PATE

Laura Ellen Sauls Pate, 89, died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Liberty Pentecostal Holiness Church. The Rev. Berry House and the Rev. Gerald Hollaman will officiate. Burial will be in Snow Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Pate was born in Greene County to the late William Sherman and Lillie Janet Aswell Smith and was the widow of Joe Sauls and Luther Branch Pate. She was a homemaker and a member of Liberty Pentecostal Holiness Church.

She was preceded in death by a son, Frank Joe Sauls, and is survived by two sons and three daughters-in-law, Linwood Albert and Addie Sauls of Goldsboro, James Earl and Barbara Sauls of Wilson and Frances Sauls Massengill of Pikeville; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Dorothy Heath of Snow Hill, JoAnn and Edgar Parris of Wilson, Judy and W.C. Weaver of Sharpsburg and Lillie Smith of Saulson; one brother, Carson Smith of Goldsboro; two sisters, Hattie Bruce Ginn and Ora Lee Mozingo of Snow Hill; and 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and other times at the home of Linwood and Addie Sauls, 702 Holland Drive, in the Forest Hills subdivision.
