JOCELYN CARRASQUILLO

Jocelyn "Joce" Luis Carrasquillo, 28, of Wilmington, died Saturday while serving in the 120th Infantry Regiment of the National Guard in Iraq.

He was born at Peace Air Force Base in New Hampshire to Isabel Salgado Carrasquillo of Goldsboro and retired U.S. Air Force Captain Luis Carrasquillo Sr. of Myrtle Beach, S.C. He was a 1994 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and had been a student at Cape Fear Community College in the Occupational Therapist Assistant program and at Miller-Mott Technical College in Wilmington in the Massage Therapy Program. He was currently working with Sam's Club in Wilmington.

A celebration of his life will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Goldsboro with the Rev. Jimmy Whitfield and the Rev. Bill Rose officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Wayne Memorial Park.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers, Luis Carrasquillo Jr. of Goldsboro, Kenneth "Kenny" Carrasquillo of Grifton and his twin brother, Ronald Carrasquillo of Goldsboro; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at his mother's home at 1504 Peachtree Street, Goldsboro.
