LESSIE MAE J. ROWE

Lessie Mae Johnson Rowe, 90, formerly of Rains Crossroads Road in Princeton, died Saturday morning at Smithfield Manor.

Born April 12, 1913, in Johnston County to the late Rev. William Riley and Mary Elizabeth Lewis Johnson, she was the widow of John Dalma Rowe who died on Oct. 29, 1992. Lessie was a long-time public school teacher who retired from Princeton School after having taught in several other communities throughout her career.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Fellowship United Methodist Church with the Rev. Hobart Burnside and her nephew, the Rev. Jack Hinton, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Surviving are her sister, Effie Hinton of Smithfield; a special niece, Vickie Shore of Kenly; and several other nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. this evening at the Parrish Funeral Home in Princeton.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Fellowship United Methodist Church Building Fund, c/o Joe Phillips, 4351 Rains Crossroads Road, Princeton, N.C. 27569.
