HAZEL WRIGHT
Hazel Denning Wright, 86, died Thursday at Britthaven Nursing Home in Kinston.
A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late E.C. Denning Sr. and Edith Florence Faircloth Denning and was the widow of William Wright. Mrs. Wright was a retired licensed practical nurse and graduated second in her class. She had been a member of Four Square Church in Rockhill, S.C. Mrs. Wright was very talented as a craftswoman, painter and in knitting work. She had a great love for cooking and for cocker spaniels.
Private services were held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Willow Dale Cemetery with her brother, Rev. W.V. Denning Sr. officiating.
Mrs. Wright is survived by her brother, Rev. W.V. Denning Sr., and several nieces and nephews, whom she loved as her own children.
She was preceded in death by a beloved infant daughter, Doris Jean Turnage.
