THOMAS BRASWELL

PRINCETON -- Thomas Roland Braswell, 80, owner and operator of Braswell Fertilizer Company for 40 years, died Monday.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Hephzibah Baptist Church, where he was a member, and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Braswell was born in Harnett County on Feb. 29, 1924, and was the son of the late Daniel and Dora Johnson Braswell. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Pine Level American Legion, serving as Legion Commander in 1989, and was a member of the 40 & 8 in Benson.

Surviving are his wife, Doris Bradley Braswell; two daughters, Gail Cassel of Jacksonville, Fla., and Sue Vernon of Princeton; two brothers, Rudolph Braswell of Dudley and George Braswell of Bristol, Va.; one sister, Martha Worley of Princeton; one grandson and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.
