WARSAW -- Jesse Brinklend Powell Sr., 82, of 609 S. Front St., died Saturday at Duplin General Hospital in Kenansville.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Wilson Chapel Baptist Church. His sons, the Rev. Willie R. Powell of Warsaw and the Rev. William Powell of Charlotte, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Powell is also survived by three other sons, Jesse B. Powell Jr. of Clinton, Johnnie Powell of Faison and Nelson Morrisey of Warsaw; two daughters, Annie D. Davis of Kenansville and Mattie Williams of Warsaw; two sisters, Susie Faison of Turkey and Essie Taylor of Warsaw; and 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The viewing will be today from 3 until 7 p.m. at Garris Funeral Home in Mount Olive.
