EVELYN WHITAKER
Ommie Evelyn Whitaker died Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held Mon-
day at 11 a.m. at St. Mark Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Whitaker was born in Broadway, was the daughter of the late William and Nancy Rancher, and was the widow of Albert Hill Whitaker. She was a member of St. Mark Church, where she served as a Mother of the Church and as a member of the Usher Board. She also was a member of Mizpah Court #78, Daughters of Isis, C.A. Whitehead Consitory #188, Order of the Golden Circle and Household of Ruth. She retired from Cherry Hospital with 37 years of service and was a member of the State Employees Retirees Club.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Junius (Beulah) Shealy; one stepson, Austin Whitaker; and five grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren, and 17 step-great-great-grandchildren.
The viewing will be on Sunday from 2 until 8 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home and the family will be there to receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m.
