RUFUS L. WILSON

Rufus Lee Wilson, 72, died Wednesday at his home.

The funeral will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Central Heights Free Will Baptist Church. The Rev. Isaac Burnett Jr. will officiate. Burial, with full military honors, will be in Old Mill Cemetery.

Mr. Wilson was the son of the late Claude and Lizzie Newkirk Wilson. He attended Central Heights Free Will Baptist Church, served on its Usher Board and was a member of Choir No. 1, Northwest B. District #3 Choir and the Tabernacle Choir.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ardilia "Momma D" Wilson, and is survived by two sons, David Wilson of Vancouver, Canada, and Rufus Wilson of Columbus, Ohio; two grandchildren from a previous marriage, Tracy Reed of Washington, D.C., and Anastasios Reed of Goldsboro; and two great-grandchildren, JaMonte and Niya Reed of Washington, D.C.

The viewing will be Saturday from 4 until 8 p.m. at Rhodes Funeral Home in Goldsboro.
