CLAXTON PEARSON

CLINTON -- Claxton Pugh Pearson, 82, of 937 Moseley Ave., died Thursday at Sampson Regional Hospital.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Epworth United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dorothy Rudd will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Pearson was a native of Sampson County and was the son of the late John William "Willie" Pearson and Janie Belle Robinson Pearson. He was a retired farmer and carpenter and was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Rhee B. Pearson of the home; four sons, Ronald Pearson of Zebulon, Glenn Pearson of New Market, Md., Terry Pearson of Clinton and Gerry Pearson of Goldsboro; a daughter, Ellen Smith of Clinton; a sister, Zula Tudor of Angier; and nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home, and other times at the residence.
