CHARLES KING

Charles E. King, 70, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, in Nashville, Tenn.

He was born on August 1, 1933, in Sampson County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy W. King, his mother, Nancy K. Lindsy, and his father, Houston King.

He was retired from Consolidated Aluminum, was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by two sons, Vince King of Nashville, Tenn., and Eddie King of Memphis, Tenn.; a daughter, Mary Wynn Copeland of Jackson, Tenn.; a stepson, Wendell Strickland of Memphis, Tenn.; and 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a sister, Nina K. Holland of Goldsboro; and a brother, Billy King of Goldsboro.

The family will receive friends on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the home of Billy and Audrey King, 103 Greene Drive, Goldsboro

A graveside service will be held at Wayne Memorial Park on Friday at 10 a.m., under the direction of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.

Arrangements in Tennessee were handled by Bond Memorial Chapel in Mt. Juliet, Tenn.
