VIOLA B. ALLEN
Viola Bass Allen 92, died Saturday at Britthaven of Goldsboro.
Funeral services will be held by the graveside on Monday at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery in Benson. Her son-in-law, Louis Marriner will officiate.
Mrs. Allen was born in Robeson County on July 14, 1911, to the late Luther and Mattie Bass. She attended the First Baptist Church in Fairmont.
She is survived by one son, Bob Barnhill and wife, Edith, of Monrovia, Maryland; one daughter, Patti S. Marriner and husband, Louis, of Pikeville; one sister, Tessie Clewis of Lumberton; two grandchildren, Greg Horne and Sharon Klonoski; three great-grandchildren, Brooks, Eddie, and Wyatt; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Allen.
The family will receive friends today from 3 until 5 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
