JESSE R. MITCHELL
NEW BERN -- Jesse Ray Mitchell, 71, of New Bern died Thursday at Craven Regional Medical Center.
Formerly of Goldsboro, he moved to New Bern and was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and attended Highland Park.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Highland Park Christian church. The Rev. Major Lane officiated.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Hill Mitchell of New Bern; three sons, Tony Mitchell and Reggie Mitchell both of Tampa, Fla., and Greg Mitchell of West Columbia, S.C.; two daughters, Beverly Langston and Kelly Lewis both of West Columbia, S.C.; two step-daughters, Charlene Goes and Lynne Scott both of New Bern; one brother, Douglas Mitchell of Chapel Hill; one sister, Mozelle Tippett of Ramona, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Highland Park Christian Church, 905 Carolina Ave., New Bern, 28562.
