Especially For You gift shop expands to Goldsboro

A longstanding Mount Olive business has expanded with its second location in Goldsboro at Cobblestone Place on Spence Avenue.
Especially for You, a gift shop with home decor, ladies clothing and accessories, recently opened at 407 N. Spence Ave.
"We have been in business in Mount Olive for 31 years," said Margaret Ann Parvin, owner. "I like to be known as a one-stop shop. I pick every item with the local community in mind, as to what they want. We also carry the latest trends."
The business moved into Goldsboro after Parvin learned that several local businesses had closed during the past year. She wanted to meet a market demand for the products found inside Especially for You stores.
"This was not a great big plan to expand," she said. "It just sort of happened because Goldsboro needed our kind of shop."
The store, which held a Christmas Open House Thursday, is already stocked for the holiday season. Special offers will be available throughout the season.
"I want people to come and shop with us every day and not just for a sales because we have something new and special to offer every day," she said. "Since we opened, there's never been a day when we didn't have any new merchandise to show."
The recent opening in Goldsboro has helped both store locations, she said. The Mount Olive store has items that are not available in Goldsboro, and the Goldsboro store has products that are not sold in Mount Olive.
"A lot of people have actually left here and driven to Mount Olive," she said.
The Mount Olive store, at 109 N. Center St., is double the size of the Goldsboro store.
"We are prideful in the mix of merchandise that we carry," she said. "We carry many national brands that customers recognize and want in fashion and gifts."
The Goldsboro store is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Prior to opening Especially for You, Parvin was the general manager at Weil's department store in Goldsboro. She worked for the company a total of nine years.
"That's how I started my retail career," she said. "My ultimate goal was to own my own business."
