Two suspects tried to rob and threatened to kill a man as he closed up 117 Internet Sweepstakes at 2339 U.S. 117 South early Wednesday morning.
The 51-year-old victim told Wayne County sheriff's deputies he was closing the business at about 1:05 a.m. when he heard voices behind him.
He turned around and saw two black men running toward him with a handgun pointed at him.
They reportedly told the man to unlock the door or they would kill him, and he told them the door had to be opened from the inside.
The victim's daughter was inside watching the incident unfold on cameras, and called 911.
She set off the alarm, which caused the suspects to back away from the door.
Once the suspects were far enough away, the victim's daughter unlocked the door and the man went inside.
After the suspects ran out of sight, the man saw a vehicle pull through the lot slowly, with its doors open, and he believed it to be the same men who tried to rob him.
The suspects were both wearing all black clothing with pantyhose over their faces.
One of the men was heavier-set, had a mustache and was the one with a gun.
The second suspect is described as tall and skinny, and had a knife on him.
The car that drove by is described as a late '80s or early '90s model blue or silver Honda Accord.
