Woman charged with possession of methamphetamine while being processed at magistrate's office

A woman is facing charges after she allegedly had methamphetamine in her purse while being processed on other charges at the Wayne County Magistrate's Office Sunday.
Melissa Ann Showman, 40, of 2461 Pikeville-Princeton Road, Pikeville, is charged with driving while license revoked, fictitious/altered registration card/tag, driving or allowing a motor vehicle with no registration, no liability insurance, canceled/revoked/suspended tag and possession of methamphetamine.
Showman was arrested at the McDonald's on Wayne Memorial Drive Sunday for several outstanding orders for arrest.
A report filed with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said that after Showman was taken to the Magistrate's Office, her purse was searched and a small amount of methamphetamine was found in the front zipper pocket.
Showman was put in the Wayne County Jail under a $6,000 secured bond.
