Five DWI checkpoints conducted by several law enforcement agencies Friday night into Saturday morning netted 109 charges, according to a press release.

The Goldsboro Police Department, Wayne County Sheriff's Office DWI Task Force and Pikeville Police Department staged the multi-agency checkpoints within Goldsboro's city limits from 10 p.m. Friday to 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

The checkpoints resulted in four DWI charges; six felony drug charges; nine misdemeanor drug charges; the apprehension of four wanted people; 23 driving while license revoked charges; 12 no operators license charges; three seat belt violations; four child seat violations; 15 registration violations and 43 other citations and violations.

North Carolina's BATMobile (Breath Alcohol Testing) unit was on scene to provide mobile intoxication testing.

Inside the large BATMobile rig is an area to test for intoxication in drivers suspected of being impaired.

The Wayne County Magistrate's Office was also at the checkpoints to facilitate the judicial process on scene, instead of requiring each person charged to be taken downtown.
