A woman reported to Goldsboro police Sunday that her cat was hanged by a leash and killed on her back porch at her home in the 400 block of South John Street, according to a police report.

The victim reportedly told police she checked on her cat at about 11:30 a.m. Sunday and that it was eating on the back porch, and it was not on a leash.

She checked on her cat again at about 4:30 p.m., the report said, and saw that her cat was hanging on the porch from a leash, dead.

She told police she does not know who the suspect could be.

The case remains under investigation.
