Wayne County can expect wind gusts up to 24 mph and afternoon showers Monday

As a tropical storm watch is issued for the Outer Banks over the evening into Monday, Wayne County can expect showers.

The National Weather Service reports that there will likely be showers in the afternoon hours Monday.

Northeast wind will reach10 to 13 mph, with possible gusts of up to 24 mph.

It is expected to be mostly cloudy with a high near 80.

Monday night more showers are expected with winds up to 15 mph and wind gusts as high as 24 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service expects the conditions to remain the same on Tuesday, with showers and wind gusts up to 26 mph.
