The Goldsboro Police Department said two officers were injured during an arrest when a man resisted being taken into custody early Saturday morning.

Deheidis Quentel Williams, 36, of the streets of Goldsboro, is charged with felony breaking and entering to terrorize, felony assault on a government official inflicting physical injury, assault on a government official, resisting a public officer, assault on a female and second-degree trespassing.

Williams allegedly broke into a woman's home at 206 Day Circle while she was sleeping in her daughter's bedroom.

A police report said he yanked the blanket off of her and began yelling obscenities at her.

The woman got her children and left the home, getting inside her vehicle. But Williams blocked her from leaving, opening her car door and choking her and hitting her, according to the police report.

A neighbor and the victim's mother saw the assault and got Williams off of the woman, the report said.

Williams then reportedly ran back into the woman's home.

Police arrived and arrested Williams -- but he didn't go willingly.

Maj. Dwayne Dean, head of the Goldsboro Police Department's Operations Bureau, said one officer injured a shoulder and another officer sustained knee injuries during the arrest due to Williams resisting them.

"It was just in the course of them trying to get him in handcuffs,' Dean said.

Williams was given no bond for the assault on a female and breaking and entering to terrorize charges. He received a $5,500 secured bond on the other charges.
