Teenager faces charges after allegedly running a man over with her truck

An 18-year-old woman is facing felony charges after allegedly running a man over with her truck and then driving away Thursday afternoon.

Amber Caitlyn Toy, of 1849 Piney Grove Church Road, LaGrange, is charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and felony hit and run.

Toy allegedly hit the 24-year-old man with her truck as he was riding his bicycle near Greenwood Middle School.

People who saw the hit and run unfold called police, reported it and then followed the girl as she tried to drive away while relaying her location to authorities.

Officers stopped and arrested Toy in the 900 block of North Spence Avenue, a short distance from where the hit and run happened.

The 24-year-old man was taken to Wayne UNC Health care for treatment.

Toy was put in the Wayne County Jail with no bond.

Sgt. Bryant Canady with the Goldsboro Police Department's Investigative Services Bureau did not immediately return a phone call seeking more information about the case.
