For the second time this year, someone walked into the Wells Fargo bank on East Ash Street Wednesday and took money from a teller before running away.

A police report said someone went inside around 3:35 p.m., demanded money from a teller and made off with an unknown amount of cash.

Sgt. Bryant Canady with the Goldsboro Police Department's Investigations Bureau said the suspect is a black man in his late 30s or early 40s.

Canady said nobody was injured in the robbery and no weapons were used.

Devon Melvin Williams, 24, of 427 Denmark St., allegedly robbed the bank at gunpoint on March 1.

Police arrested Williams a short distance away from the bank after he tried to get away on foot.

Williams was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of second-degree kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon.

Anyone with information about Wednesday's robbery, or any other crime in Wayne County is asked to call or text Crime Stoppers at 919-735-2255 or submit a tip at p3tips.com.

Callers will remain anonymous and if your information leads to a felony arrest you will be given a cash reward for the information.
