Volunteers from Spring Creek Baptist Church in Seven Springs will travel to Louisiana this weekend to help with disaster relief after recent flooding.

Ruth Anne Harris, a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church, said she and other volunteers will be leaving Friday and Saturday for Baton Rouge, Louisiana. They plan to be in Louisiana until Sept. 8. Pastor Jason Watford is a native of Baton Rouge.

Approximately 12 to 15 volunteers from Spring Creek Baptist Church will help to rebuild two churches and repair two homes of church members. The volunteers will be taking sheetrock and insulation and distributing King James Bibles, Mrs. Harris said.

The group welcomes donations of building supplies, cleaning products and money. Donated items can be dropped off at Spring Creek Baptist Church, 3177 Indian Springs Road, Seven Springs, or volunteers will be willing to pick up the items.

For more information, call Mrs. Harris at 919-429-0328 or the church office at 919-658-1318.
