Man charged with possession of firearm

A validated gang member was arrested on firearm charges Friday when member of the Wayne County REACT Team were conducting a narcotics investigation in Jefferson Court.
Lamonta Devin Holmes, 28, of 107 Somerset Drive, was arrested after deputies approached him while he was standing beside a vehicle on Jefferson Court. As deputies approached Holmes, he threw a firearm down and fled on foot.
Deputies chased Holmes down and arrested him and charged him with possession of a firearm by a felon and resist, delay and obstruct.
Holmes was given a $75,500 secured bond.
