Man's truck shot at after confrontation

A man reported to the Wayne County Sheriff's Department that two suspects followed him to a store Friday night and then shot at his truck as the man left the store.
According to the sheriff's report, the man stopped his car at the Old Store, located at the corner of N.C. 581 and Old Smithfield Road to confront the suspects who were following him.
He reported he and the suspects began to argue before the man drove off. He reported shots were fired and he heard something hit his truck. When he arrived home, he saw a bullet hole in his tailgate and found a bullet inside his toolbox, according to the report.
