NCRC test dates available for September at WCC

The WorkKeys(r) tests for the National Career Readiness Certificate will be offered four times this month at Wayne Community College.
Wayne County leads the state in the number of certificates earned, with more than 13,500 awarded to date. Nearly 25 percent of the county's population holds the credential recognized by employers across the sate as a proven measurement of job skills.
Individuals may earn bronze, silver, gold or platinum distinctions based on their performance on the test.
Testing sessions will be held on Sept. 9 and 29 from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., Sept. 24 from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. and on Sept. 16 from 4:30 to 9 p.m., all in Room 136 of the Walnut Building at WCC. Pre-registration is required, by calling 919-739-7004.
Cost to take the set of three skill assessments, in applied mathematics, locating information and reading for information, is $30 but assistance to cover that cost may be available.
The Airman and Family Readiness Center on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base offers free testing to military personnel and their dependents. The next session will be held Sept. 15 from 1-4 p.m. at the Watkins-Das Education Center computer lab. Pre-register at 919-772-1123.
Advance preparation and skills upgrade training is also available in the WORKS Lab, Room 136 of the Walnut Building. The lab is open Mondays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. until noon, Mondays and Tuesdays from 1 to 4 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 8 p.m.
