On Sunday, Sept. 6, at approximately 11:15 p.m. officers were called to Wayne Memorial Hospital regarding a gunshot victim.

Officers discovered Tracy Yelverton, 47, of 514 Roberts Street had been at 503 Dail Street just prior and while talking with people at that residence he heard gun shots then realized he was struck in the buttocks.

Yelverton left that location and went to Wayne Memorial hospital.

Shortly thereafter, a second victim named Kewanna McKinzie, 35, arrived at Wayne Memorial Hospital, reporting she was also at 503 Dail Street and was struck by a bullet in her arm.

Both victims have been released from the hospital. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call investigator Crawford at 919-580-4213.
