A prior felon whom police say pointed a gun at his wife Thursday remains on the loose after running away from officers trying to arrest him, according to a Goldsboro police report.
The weapon has been recovered.
Allen Drew McMillan Jr., 30, allegedly pulled and pointed a .22 caliber pistol at his wife, Bridget McMillan, in their shared residence at 900 J Evergreen Ave., just after 3 a.m.
Police responded to the residence and established McMillan as a known felon in possession of a firearm.
Before McMillan could be detained, however, he took off running and eluded police.
Mrs. McMillan, having already made statements that the weapon belonged to her husband, then declined to press charges against him, according to the report.
The responding officers have secured warrants for McMillan on charges of possession of a firearm by a felon and resisting a public officer.
