A Goldsboro man wanted by police in connection with a home invasion on North Claiborne Street in September is being held in the Wayne County Jail under a $100,000 secured bond after he was extradited from West Virginia back to Wayne County on Sunday.

Dontreal Amard Lewis, 21, of 409 S. Herman St., is charged with first-degree burglary, assault inflicting serious injury, larceny and possession of stolen property.

Lewis is allegedly one of two men who broke into the home of a 58-year-old man Sept. 13 and assaulted him before stealing a 32-inch flat screen TV and $1 in cash. The victim was treated and released form Wayne Memorial Hospital, according to the press release.

Through their investigation, investigators identified Lewis as a suspect and was subsequently charged, the press release said.

Officers with the Keyser Police Department, located in Mineral County, W.Va., arrested Lewis Friday and arranged to return him to Goldsboro.

He had a first appearance Monday in Wayne County District Court and was appointed counsel. His next court appearance on the related charges is set for Oct. 28. He also is scheduled to appear in district court Nov. 15 on a separate charge of cyberstalking.
