The city of Goldsboro has designated 6-8 p.m. Thursday as the official time for trick or treat.

Children should only approach houses that have an exterior light on, officials said.

Parents should supervise their children, and city officials ask that only children under age 16 participate in the trick-or-treating.

Trick or treaters are also being asked to stay in their own neighborhoods.
