Teens to face charges in 2012 murder

Accused killers Stephon Deandre Jennings, 19, and Javonta Marquez Ellis, 17, will stand trial in connection with the 2012 death of a Goldsboro man, a Wayne County grand jury decided in May.
The two teens are charged with single counts each of first-degree murder and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon for their alleged roles in the shooting death of 34-year-old Slaughter Street resident Kevin Bell.
Bell, called by community members a "regular working guy," was killed just after midnight June 14, 2012, in what police say was a botched robbery.
Throughout the course of the investigation conducted by the Goldsboro Police Department, Jennings, of 621 Isler St., and Ellis, of 402 S. Williams St., were developed as suspects and arrested. They have since been held without bond in the Wayne County Jail.
In addition to those charges, the grand jury also sent up true bills in the following cases:

* Phillip Hardy, 29, 615 S. Claiborne St., possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
* Jorge Manuel Alvarez, 35, 203 Lee Drive, obtaining property by false pretense.
* Denisha Todd, 19, 1304 Olivia Lane, common law robbery.
* Michael Bellamy, 22, 1101 Crawford St., common law robbery.
* Decantis Antonio Coley, 35, 201 Stevens Mill Road, assault inflicting serious bodily injury, assault by strangulation.
* Timothy Deral Hunt, 33, 5770 N.C. Highway 211 E., larceny, possession of stolen goods.

Church St., malicious conduct by a prisoner, resisting a public officer, assault on a government official, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to sell and deliver a controlled substance, keeping and maintaining a dwelling for the use of controlled substances.
* Brian Frank Foster, 26, 3112 E. Ash St., speeding to elude arrest.
