County, city will observe holiday Friday

Local and state offices will be closed Friday, April 6, in observance of the Good Friday holiday. Federal offices, banks and the post office will not be closed.
All Wayne County offices will be closed that day, and the Wayne County Public Library will be closed on Friday, April 6, and on Saturday, April 7.
The county landfill will be closed Wednesday, April 4, as normal, and will be open on Saturday, April 7.
Wayne County Public Schools will be closed April 6 though 13.
Town halls will be closed April 6 in Goldsboro, Pikeville, Fremont, Walnut Creek and Mount Olive. The closings will not affect any garbage or recyclables collections except in Goldsboro where Friday's pickups will be serviced on Wednesday, April 4.
Seven Springs Town Hall, which is not open on Fridays, will be closed Monday, April 9.
Eureka Town Hall will not be closed.
The Goldsboro/Wayne Transportation Authority will operate on a holiday schedule on April 6. The bus service will operate from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The van service will operate on its normal schedule.
However, people requesting van service for April 6, 7 and 9 must call and schedule transportation no later than 2:30 p.m. on April 4.
