PREP BOYS' SOCCER: Newell continues to score for WCDS

Wayne Country Day's scoring reputation preceded itself Friday afternoon.
And Freedom Christian's defensive ploy to contain the high-scoring Chargersback-fired.
The Patriots kept 10 players from the edge of the 18-yard box to the edge of the midfield center circle the entire 80 minutes, and still couldn't keep the Chargers out of the net.
Marquise Newell tallied two goals and an assist during a 5-0 victory. Newell leads the team in goals scored (12), assists (8) and total points (32).
Christian Garloch, David Gurley and Nehemiya Shaw supplied one goal apiece. Shaw ranks second on the team in goals scored (11) and total points (27).
Gurley, Colby Bowen, Cam Gerrard and Caleb Brewer each distributed one assist. Gurley, Garloch and Shaw have recorded five assists apiece on the year.
Wayne Country Day (9-0-0 overall) recorded its fourth shutout of the season and continues play Monday at Fayetteville Academy.
