PREP VOLLEYBALL: Ayden-Grifton turns back C.B. Aycock

PIKEVILLE -- Ayden-Grifton claimed the third and fourth sets, and departed Charles B. Aycock with a 25-23, 15-25, 25-12, 25-13 non-conference victory Tuesday afternoon.
Senior Daelyn Brock and sophomore Abbey Thomas knocked down nine kills apiece. Makenzie Norris had five kills in seven attempts with no errors and dished out a team-leading 20 assists. Victoria Patnaude chipped in with four kills.
Thomas and Patnaude played strong at the net with four and three blocks, respectively.
Brock emerged as the defensive leader with 18 digs, followed by sophomore Audrey Dail with 16 and Thomas with 11.
The Golden Falcons (1-1 overall) visit Rosewood today.
