Chance Howard belted his second home run in as many nights as Wayne County Post 11 picked up a 12-3, non-division victory over Wallace Post 156 on Sunday evening.

Howard ended the night 2-for-4 with three RBI.

"Chance had a great night at the plate," Post 11 head coach Adam Pate said. "We had a bunch of kids who had two hits."

Carson Smitherman (RBI), Aryc Chrisman (two RBI) and Christian Yarbrough provided two hits apiece.

Wayne County also ran roughshod over the Post 156 defense. Blake Gipson stole four bases, while Landon Ginn swiped three. Case Kermode, Nolan Harrell, Yarbrough and Smitherman each collected one stolen base.

"We had a couple of double steals and guys doing it on their own, which is something I'm trying to teach," Pate said.

Rosewood senior Tucker Chapin worked three-plus innings on the bump. The right-hander yielded one hit and retired two Wallace batters on strikeouts.

Kolby Harris, Kyle Sullivan and Chrisman combined for three-plus innings of six-hit, five-strikeout relief.

"Tucker...he did very well," Pate said. "He threw a lot of strikes. Kolby came in and did another great job for us out of the pen. It went really well."

Wayne County (4-1 overall) extended its modest win streak to two games.
