Dively emerges as runner-up in 18U Tar Heel Qualifier

Sam Dively finished runner-up to Wake Forest University recruit Matthew Thomson during the Tar Heel Qualifier Boys 18U tournament played in Winston-Salem. Dively posted consecutive straight-set wins over Ian Murphy, Vivek Ramesh, Nicholas Spera, Sam Dean and Zach Theodossiou before he retired trailing Thomson 5-7, 3-5. Dively is a rising senior at Wayne Country Day. He helped lead the Chargers to a runner-up finish to Oakwood in the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association Class 1-A dual-team state championships, and earned NCISAA All-State honors for the sixth consecutive year.
