Prep Basketball --Wayne Christian's Oates goes wild in road setback

ERWIN -- Senior guard Darrian Oates torched the nets for 48 points on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough to propel Wayne Christian past Cape Fear Christian Academy.
The setback moved Wayne Christian to 0-2 on the season.
Jaydon Young tallied 13 points in his varsity debut, while senior Josiah Simmons contributed 10 for the Eagles.
Wayne Christian next sees action today at Trinity Christian.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
