GOLF --Lady Blues finish eighth at Foxfire Village

FOXFIRE VILLAGE -- The Charles B. Aycock women's golf team recorded a final-round score of 284 on Tuesday to finish eighth in the N.C. High School Athletic Association 3-A Golf Championship near famed Pinehurst.
Senior Abby Sauls concluded a solid prep career with a round of 86, while Classmate Leah Campbell posted a 97.
Junior Savannah Strickland signed for a 101.
CBA improved its play by 14 shots from round one, and finished the tournament with a two-day team total of 582.
Rockingham County senior and UNC-Greensboro commit Hailey Joy, the individual leader after an opening-round 69, shot a 76 to claim medalist honors by three shots over Katharina Floyd of Northwood.
Rockingham County also won the team title by a staggering 36 shots over Northern Guilford.
