CROSS COUNTRY --Court leads Wayne Christian to NCISAA girls' state title

CARY -- Paige Court of Wayne Christian crossed the tape in 21:28.42 on Friday, leading the Lady Eagles to the NCISAA girls' cross country state title at the WakeMed Soccer Complex.
Hayli Verme also pushed the Wayne Christian cause, finishing with a time of 23:24.88. Maria Memmelaar toured the course in 27:40.02, while Tristan Alexander finished with a time of 29:25.70.
Wayne Country Day School finished second in the event, paced by Gray Young's mark of 21:43.77. Ashton Gupton performed ably, recording a mark of 23:51.12, while Anne Stuart Freemon filed a time of 24:29.38.
Katherine Eltz (24:36.48), Kathryn Hamilton (27:50.56) and Hayden Nielsen (29:00.85) rounded out the effort for Wayne Country Day.
