Goldsboro volleyball lost in three sets to East Duplin Thursday night.
The varsity girls fell by scores of 10-25, 15-25 and 16-25.
This brings the team's overall record to 8-9, and their conference record to 2-6.
Volleyball
WCDS 3,
Pitt County 1
The Lady Chargers traveled to Greenville Thursday and beat the Pitt County Pacers in four sets, 21-25, 25-22, 27-25 and 25-12.
Hannah Neal had a standout performance with 14 kills, as did Cate Eagles with 35 assists and 9 aces.
Lillian Freeman racked up 10 kills, while Lexe Jeffreys had 7 kills and 4 blocks.
New Bern 3,
SWHS 0
Southern Wayne lost in three sets to New Bern, 25-12, 25-14 and 25-9.
Freshman Morgan Kenneday had a personal record of eight digs on the night.
North Duplin 3,
James Kenan 1
North Duplin took down James Kenan in four sets Thursday, 25-21, 25-21, 20-25 and 25-14.
Strong scoring performances led the team to victory, with Anna Thornton hitting five aces and putting up 20 assists on the night.
Other good offensive performances on the night included Callie Thornton, with five aces and six kills, Hannah Martin with four aces, Alyssa Santos with two aces and two kills, Taylor Walker with nine kills, Kenzie Taylor with five kills and Cassy King with one kill.
Santos also put up five blocks.
This brings North Duplin's overall record to 8-6 and their conference record to 3-5.
D.H. Conley 3,
C.B. Aycock 0
The Lady Golden Falcons fell in three sets to D.H. Conley, 22-25, 20-25 and 12-25.
Seniors Arlanda Faulkner and Hannah Carter put up strong performances with 17 kills and 29 assists, respectively.
Spring Creek 3,
WRH 0
The Lady Gators bested Wallace Rose-Hill in three sets, 25-22, 25-21 and 25-17.
Spring Creek had standout performances from Kayla Herring, Fernanda Martinez, Shae Odom, Madison Sullivan, Emily Dupuy and Mikayla Price.
Herring had 10 kills, three aces and seven digs; Martinez had eight kills, two aces and three assists; Odom had four assists and seven digs; Sullivan had 13 assists; and Dupuy and Price each had three kills.
Parrott Academy 3,
Coastal Christian 1
The Parrott Academy volleyball team secured a 3-1 victory over Coastal Christian High on Thursday by a 25-19, 25-19, 14-25, 28-26 margin.
Alli Grant Avery led the Patriots with 17 kills and three blocks. Scarlet Combs provided 13 kills.
Gabby Carriere played well from the service line, adding 16 points and five aces.
Jorja Tuten also performed ably, provided 13 service points and a pair of aces. Mackenzie Pope contributed an all-around effort, providing 33 assists, three kills and three blocks.
Parrott Academy returns to the court next Tuesday versus Fayetteville Academy.
First serve is 4 p.m.

C.B. Aycock 2,
South Central 1
C.B. Aycock beat South Central two goals to one in Thursday night's action, taking an early lead in the first half.
Zach Naughton scored on an assist from Sean Doulin only 23 seconds into the game, putting the Golden Falcons off to a strong start.
David McIver then knocked home a penalty kick to finish out the first half -- a lead that carried the team to victory over the Falcons.
South Central's goal was sent into the back of the net 20 minutes into the second half off of an assist from Amen-Ra Pryor.
The triumph brings C.B. Aycock's overall record to 10-1 and their conference record to 4-1.
North Duplin 7,
Camp Lejeune 3
North Duplin hammered out an early lead in the first half of Thursday's matchup against Camp Lejeune, sending home four goals before the half was over.
Wilber Velasquez, Irvin Nunez and Rafa Lopez each put goals in the back of the net to stretch the early lead out to four goals to one, with Wilber Velasquez sending two shots into the goal.
Camp Lejeune scored only one in the first half off of a free kick from 20 yards out.
But Camp Lejeune put one on the board early in the second half from a penalty kick, and hit the net again several minutes later to bring the score to a close 4-3 at the 48 minute mark.
North Duplin responded in quick fashion, with Wilber Velasquez answering Camp Lejeune's goals by scoring two himself at the 55 and 58 minute marks.
Gustavo Velasquez would cap off the match with a goal of his own at the 73 minute mark.

Southern Wayne's junior Saints fell in two sets to New Bern Thursday, 19-25 and 14-25.
Sophomore Allison Gurley had five kills.
WRH 2,
Spring Creek 1
Spring Creek's junior Gators fell in three sets to Wallace Rose-Hill, 14-25, 26-24 and 20-25.
East Duplin 2,
Goldsboro 0
The junior Cougars lost in two sets Thursday, 12-25 and 24-26.

Greenwood 1
Greenwood Middle fell in four sets Thursday evening, 25-14, 18-25, 26-24 and 26-24.
This brings Spring Creek's overall record to 3-3, and division record to 1-0.
