ECBL: Rosewood, WCDS play to 10-10, eight-inning tie

Wayne Country Day charged to a four-run lead through three innings of play, but Rosewood battled back to create a 10-10, eight-inning tie in Eastern Carolina Baseball League play Tuesday evening.
The game was called due to darkness.
Avery Browning led WCDS with three hits and an RBI. Amane Godo batted 2-for-3 with three RBI, while Case Kermode contributed two hits and an RBI.
Ryan Hopes and Jaxon Anderson (two RBI) provided one hit apiece.
Godo, Willman and Kermode combined to allow 10 runs (six earned) on 15 hits and six strikeouts.
Rising freshman Conner Casey paced Rosewood's offense with three hits. Conner Vernon (four RBI), Will Albert (two RBI), Tucker Chapin and Connor Wise each pounded out two hits. Tanner Capps (RBI), Will Harris, Tanner McKeel (RBI) and Carson Hatem each had one hit.
Vernon, Logan Price, McKeel and Chapin combined for 16 strikeouts on the bump.
The teams combined to leave 21 runners on base.
Wayne Country Day (2-2-1 overall) travels to C.B. Aycock today.
