SOFTBALL: North Duplin takes down Lakewood

CALYPSO -- North Duplin used a five-run sixth inning to push past Lakewood 11-3 on Wednesday.
Rayanna Koch went 3-for-4 with a double. Natalie Ramirez, Brook Cottle and Maddie Swinson provided two hits each. Hannah Brogden, Anna Thornton and Alyssa Santos had one hit apiece.
Santos and Brogden combined to allow five hits, no walks and strike out 10 batters.
