DUDLEY -- South Central built a six-run lead during a 31/2-inning stretch and slipped past Southern Wayne, 7-3, in Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference action Thursday evening.
The Saints closed the gap to 6-3 after five innings, but could get no closer.
Derek Holsinger, Aryc Chrisman, Lance Wise and Kolby Anderson delivered two hits apiece for SW. Jack Casbarro and Manny Walker each provided an RBI.
Anderson took the mound loss.
One night earlier, D.H. Conley plated two runs during a two-inning stretch and cruised to a 16-6, six-inning win. The Vikings roughed up four Southern Wayne pitchers -- Chrisman, Casbarro, Justin Edwards and Holsinger -- for 16 hits.
Chrisman took the mound loss.
Just eight runs were earned.
Offensively, Chrisman batted 2-for-3 with two RBI. Casbarro (RBI) and Walker (RBI) each recorded two hits. Holsinger, Wise, Josh Grady and Noah Horton each registered one hit.
