La GRANGE -- Luke Frederick permitted five hits during Charles B. Aycock's 9-3, non-conference triumph over North Lenoir on Wednesday afternoon.
Frederick surrendered three earned runs, issued three walks and sat down four NL batters on strikeouts in six innings of work on the bump.
Jordan Gay provided one inning of no-hit relief.
Tied at 3-3 through five innings, the Golden Falcons' offense erupted in the sixth inning. Chandler Matthews and Blake Gipson each connected on an RBI hit as Aycock seized a 7-3 advantage.
CBA added two seventh-inning runs.
Matthews concluded the day 3-for-4 with two RBI. Gipson (three RBI), Bradley Pate and Nick Aycock supplied two hits apiece. Joey Hampton and Tyler Daniels (RBI) each contributed one hit.
Hampton, Aycock and Pate combined to score six runs.
The Hawks' Colby McLawhorn smashed a two-run home run in the bottom of the first inning. Aaron Jarman added a game-tying RBI double in the third.
Weather permitting, the Golden Falcons (9-4 overall) play host to Greene Central today. Game time is 5 p.m.
