COLLEGE SOFTBALL: Rosewood alum Burns cops league honor

ROCKY MOUNT -- North Carolina Wesleyan junior Alicia Burns earned a spot on the USA South All-Conference East Division Second Team in softball.
The Rosewood grad emerged as the Battling Bishops' leader in batting average (.364), hits (36), doubles (9) and sacrifice bunts (4). The 5-foot-8 infielder collected 19 RBI, scored 16 runs and belted a home run.
Defensively, Burns filed a .991 fielding percentage with just two errors in 214 chances.
Burns started and played in 34 games for N.C. Wesleyan, which finished 18-18 overall and 13-9 against USA South opposition this past spring.
